The Salt Raker Inn is a historic landmark located on quaint Duke Street, Grand Turk, part of the Turks and Caicos Islands, which lie at the end of the Bahamas chain in the Caribbean...The Turks Islands are Grand Turk (the capital) and Salt Cay.

The main building was originally built as a residence for Bermudan shipwright Jonathan Glass in the 1850?s. Using shipwright skills and techniques,
The Salt Raker Inn has withstood many hurricanes in Grand Turk.

The main house has other features, which are a link to the islands? past. Some of the beams and rafters are made of native mahogany. The cedar shingles on the north side of the roof came from Canada in trade for salt in the ?heyday? of the Turks and Caicos Salt Industry.

During the 20th century the main building was converted into a guesthouse, todays' The Salt Raker Inn. While still decidedly historic in character, modern conveniences have been added to enhance the experience.

Our restaurant the Secret Garden is open for breakfast, lunch and dInner seven days a week. We offer a great selection of island specialities and traditional continental cuisine. Our guets` favorites include freshly caught grouper, conch
and lobster.

We also offer tropical drinks of cocktails at our full service bar. Enjoy a piña colada or rum punch at the end of your perfect day of diving or relaxing on our beautiful beaches.
