WHAT CAN WE OFFER:

What can we offer?

Quiet
Establish yourselves in your Cottage and venture out only as you wish ? to stroll along the walking tracks which radiate from our Molloy Street site, to pop into Augusta for supplies, a quiet drink, or a meal at the hotel or one of the restaurants, or perhaps a trip up the Blackwood River on the ferry Miss Flinders. (Whale watching / seasonal)

History
Full of history is the Augusta-Margaret River - Prevally Park triangle, and just around the corner is Flinders Bay where Matthew Flinders dodged the shoals to make a landing during his circumnavigation of Australia. The French were actively exploring the coast at the time, and many coastal landmarks bear the names of French captains or their ships. The coast shoals are littered with wrecks, you can?t see them but you can read about them and, facing a fierce winter nor-westerly gusting into Hamelin Bay, you can see how inevitably they were blown on to the rocks.

Nature
Over a week you could have a picnic lunch or barbeque in a different spot each day ? outside your Cottage, at one of the beautiful spots like Hamelin Bay (wonderously peaceful in spring and summer), amid the karri forest bisected by Boranup Drive, at the Rotary Park which commemorates the working class people who became farmers in the 1920s resettlement scheme.

Caves
The mammoth, Lake and Jewel caves are all within 21 kilometres of Augusta. All have easy access and modern lighting.

Boating
You can hire fishing dinghies, windsurfers, surf cats on the Ellis Street foreshore or launch your own boat in either Augusta or Hamelin Bay.

Fishing
Within walking distance of the Cottages you will find fisherman?s jetty. More adventurous anglers will cast into the ocean at places like Skippy Rock near the Leeuwin lighthouse.

Surfing and Diving
Some of the best in the West. Please take local advice on where and when.

Eat, Drink and be Merry
Your basic holiday triangle includes the best South-West wineries including wine tasting facilities.
