Quail Creek Golf Course in Fairhope, Baldwin County, United States | Golf

Bobby Hall, new director and Golf pro at Fairhope’s Quail Creek Golf Course, says he is pleased to be working at Quail Creek, Baldwin County’s only city-owned Golf course. It is actually his second time at the helm of the course.
“Quail Creek opened in April 1988, and I started work as director and head Golf pro in January 1989, a position I held until 1992 when I left to become head Golf pro at Skyline Country Club in Mobile,” Hall said.

After working in Mobile for eight years, Hall took a break from Golf and began working as a petroleum landman, an independent contractor for oil and gas exploration in South Mississippi and South Alabama. “I always said, however, that if the right opportunity came along, I would get back into Golf, and that’s why I’m here now. The chance to come back to Fairhope to live and to work was very inviting, and I didn’t hesitate to respond.”
Hall said that he and Course Superintendent Harold Childress are working on short-and long-term improvement plans for the course. Some course improvements will be implemented in the next few months, including leveling tee boxes, improving sand traps, and dredging the lake to improve course sight and drainage. “Other projects are more long-range, but we’ll always be on the road to improvement,” Hall said.
