Qdos Arts in Lorne, Surf Coast Shire, Australia | Art Gallery
Welcome to Qdos Arts Art Gallery, Lorne Australia. Established in 1989, Qdos Arts began as Lorne’s first contemporary Art Gallery on Mountjoy Pde. Qdos Arts was relocated to Allenvale road in 1998.
The new Qdos Arts was designed in collaboration with Peter Brook director of Peddle Thorpe Architects Melbourne and Graeme Wilkie, the director. The project involved 20 ton of warehouse timbers, 300 ton of volcanic basalt and 30 ton of bluestone pavers in the construction of the new Qdos Arts that opened in 1998.
The fresh beginning heralded the advance of Wilkie fulfilling the vision; decentralising and integrating the arts from the city into forest. This new Art Gallery venue offered the scope to bring a greater diversity of cultural events to Lorne. Of the 150 odd exhibitions mounted at Qdos Arts over the years, numerous acclaimed artists, musicians and performers have been seen at Qdos Arts. The summer season is busy with Art, Music Poetry and Cinema. Art camps are conducted for children secondary and tertiary colleges.
The Sculpture Park is a three acre setting in the thick towering eucalyptus features a decorative pond surrounded by works of our leading sculptors. Each Easter Qdos Arts hosts the Annual Open Air Sculpture Exhibition featuring indoor and outdoor works.
