Puzzling Place

Puzzling Place in Keswick, Cumbria, United Kingdom | Attraction

Puzzling Place is a fixed location Tourist Attraction that opened to the public in Museum Square, Keswick in the United Kingdom, on the 7th of July 2001. It is the product of two years work by local brothers Tim and Andrew. Our aim was to open a gallery style exhibition that was different to anything experienced before, both in content and the relaxed, informal ambience of the place that couples education with the elements of fun and surprise.

The exhibits displayed in the Puzzling Place range from being at the cutting edge of the industry, for example the illusionary sculptures of Guido Morretti, to being benchmarks in the development of their art form, for example some of the original glass plate holograms from the Richmond Studios.

The common themes throughout all the exhibits in the Attraction are Puzzles and Illusions. The Puzzling Place exhibits present a classic study in synthesising the arts and sciences. The very essence of the exhibit line is an integration of these disciplines. We aim to encourage consumers to step beyond the visitor exhibit interface and enjoy a truly interactive experience. Patrons to the gallery in Keswick will have their senses and perceptions of sight challenged as our exhibits and practical demonstrations expose the natural restrains of the visual system, leaving visitors quite literally not believing their eyes.

To compliment the exhibition, Puzzling Place also has a small retail area and a free Puzzle Zone where visitors may test their abilities of lateral thought against some of the worlds most entertaining commercially produced puzzles.
