Pukeiti Gardens in New Plymouth, New Plymouth, New Zealand | Botanical Gardens

Pukeiti Gardens is a 360 hectare rain forest property located between Mount Egmont/Taranaki and the scenic west coast, just south of New Plymouth. Established in 1951, these beautiful gardens are an easy walk along mostly grassed tracks.



Pukeiti Gardens is open all year round, except Christmas Day, and is a popular destination for tourists and visitors who choose to stay in the New Plymouth area.



Groups and organized tours welcome and we can cater to suit your requirements.  Pukeiti Garden's rainforest setting, free draining volcanic soil and mountain air, provide a microclimate for a wide range of plants that complement the magnificent rhododendron collection.



Refreshments are available from the Gatehouse Cafe overlooking the gardens and include morning and afternoon teas and light lunches. Soak up the heady atmosphere whilst indulging in our carefully prepared meals.
