Preserve Rhode Island in Providence, Providence County, United States | Historic

Welcome to Preserve Rhode Island, Providence, Rhode Island, United States. The Historic Sites Coalition of Rhode Island presented its first workshop on Thursday, March 27 at the Rhode Island Department of Economic Development. The Narragansett conference room was filled to capacity with attendees representing nineteen Historic sites throughout the state, as well as five tourism districts - thirty three attendees in all. The event was a great success and Preserve Rhode Island, Providence wishes to extend a special thank you to all who participated.
The workshop provided an opportunity to connect with colleagues and learn about new directions for Historic sites from Ron Potvin, Assistant Director and Curator of the John Nicholas Brown Center. Mark Brodeur and Katrina White from the RI Division of Tourism provided valuable insight on how to work with various tour markets and highlighted what they would like to experience. Ruth Taylor, Executive Director of the Newport Historical Society provided examples of collaborating with partners as well as her first hand experiences in engaging the community in a way that would include the Historic resources they operate.
