Captain Cook is one of the most beautiful and historic places in Hawaii. Kayak along dolphins to the village site where Captain Cook was mistaken for the Hawaiian god, Lono. Rent a kayak from Annie and in ten minutes be in Kealakekua Bay kayaking over to the Captain Cook monument to see dolphins or snorkel in the fish refuge. Pineapple Park Hostel is ten minutes to the Place of Refuge archaeological site and Two Steps/Honaunau snorkeling/diving area, and 20 minutes to the sandy beach of Ho’okena. Or drive north and explore the Kona coast beaches. A minimart and restaurants and the bus stop are in walking distance of the Pineapple Park Hostel. More grocery stores, a hardware store, galleries, coffee or chocolate plantations tours and a post office are one mile away.
