The Pharoah Gallery

The Pharoah Gallery in Wilderness, Garden Route, South Africa | Art Gallery

The Pharoah Gallery is located on the banks of Wilderness Lagoon in a picturesque thatch cottage originally owned by Victor Smith -Peter's grandfather, an aviation pioneer who flew solo in an open cockpit over Africa in the 1930's.
In addition to Peter's magnificent oil paintings, our collection includes some of South Africa's finest contemporary artists such as leather artist, Beatrix Bosch, Peter Diggery and other up and coming South African artists.
Our Move to Wilderness is a little like a fairy tale...
We were living in Gauteng, working in the advertising industry when my wife and daughter were hijacked outside her nursery school. Within three weeks, we had packed our bags and left the big smoke behind us - No Jobs, No place to stay and very little money. That was almost eight years ago... and we haven't looked back.
I am now enjoying a career as a full time fine artist working mainly in oils on board and canvas ... and selling through our gallery in Wilderness, Garden Route, South Africa to fine art collectors around the world.
This was one hijacking with a happy ending...
