The Paul in Copenhagen, Zealand and Amager, Denmark | Restaurant
Glassalen
.. that once was Belle Terrasse is now again in safe and very careful hands.
The granduous glass domed erection that was drawn in the fourties by the infamous Danish master-architect Poul Henningsen has now been restored to it’s former glory and now houses a new evoloutionary gastronomic experience.
The enormous glass construction houses a theatre and our Restaurant, The Paul. Flanked by it’s herb gardens, the Restaurant looks out onto the lake. Previously serving diners with numbers well into the hundreds, we have now limited the capacity to around seventy. Intimacy, quality and personality are key words in our culinary battleplan.
A very simple, elegant and very relaxed Restaurant has fallen into place within these glassed walls and lightly timbered ceilings. A results of months, even years of planning. A realised dream.
Ps – our book from The Paul has also now finally been finished and is off to the printers as I speak. The extensive collection of recipes, pictures by Andreas Wiking and wine recommendations - sketches and paintings will be available around the end of May from the publisher Politiken. Signed copies can of course be purchased at the Restaurant.
