Museum and Library of Confederate History, Greenville, South Carolina, is dedicated to an accurate portrayal of the history of one of the most tragic periods in America's past: 1861-1865. We show the events as they were, without embellishment or revisionism. The Museum is home to numerous artifacts and displays portraying the war and home life in the South during that time during the War for Southern Independence.

The mission of the 16th Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers, Museum of Confederate History, is to protect, preserve and defend the memory, history and heritage of the 250,000 gallant Confederate soldiers who gave their lives during the War Between the States.

The Main Gallery is home to an extensive collection of arms, artifacts and documents of the war period. Army and Navy are both represented, and the Museum features the rare Morse Carbine and a 1850s piano.

The Heritage Room is home to one of the Museum's prize artifacts, the South Carolina Ordinance of Secession. In addition, artifacts of the soldier's life are in this room including uniforms and medical instruments.

The Vance Drawdy Research Library contains the entire roster of Confederate soldiers and numerous regimental histories. In addition, the Library contains a copy of the Official Records of the War as published by the US government.

This room contains Confederate currency and newspaper and magazine articles from the time of the Was for Southern Independence.

Home Front Room contains artifacts and displays of life back home on the farm or in town. This room contains numerous articles of women's Clothing and accessories.

Hall of Honor - the main hallway in the Museum has the flags of the Confederacy and numerous photographs of Confederate soldiers, 16th South Carolina Volunteer Infantry and black Confederate soldiers.

The Museum Gift Shop contains books, CDs, postcards, jewellery, flags, toys, and Memorabilia from the War for Southern Independence.

There is no admission fee.
