Maclure House Restaurant

Maclure House Restaurant in Parksville, Vancouver Island, Canada | Restaurant

Built in 1921, the Maclure House Restaurant was the original summer manor for Samuel and Evelyn Beattie. Known as the "Jewel of Parksville" the Maclure House offers English Breakfast, "Pub" Lunch, Relaxed Dining, Summer Afternoon Tea, a children's menu and an oceanview patio.
The menu is varied and imaginative, featuring seafood, a rack of lamb (to die for), succulent steaks creatively prepared, as well as unusual pasta dishes and low cholesterol offerings and a number of vegetarian items. The wine list is reasonably priced, leaning heavily toward local Estate Wineries as well as popular standard fare from far and wide. The Restaurant itself is relaxed as becomes a resort area. Warm days see the lawn and patio scattered with tables and patrons enjoying lunches or afternoon devonshire teas, and lingering over dinner as the moon rises. Cooler times are warmed by the hand-carved fireplaces. The Maclure House Restaurant specializes in local produce where possible. The seafood comes from local fishermen, the sidestripe prawns are often fished within view of the Restaurant windows, and are hand peeled. Specialty salad greens are organically grown by a local market gardener and many of the herbs used in the kitchen are raised on the patio, amidst geraniums and petunias. The Maclure House Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with hours of operation varying with the seasons.
