Welcome to the Kiwanis Club, Hartwell, United States. The first Kiwanis Club of Hartwell was chartered on June 28, 1922. The Club "expired" during the depression of the 30's. Mr. Steve Skelton always said "he was president when it died and he"killed" it". The present Club was reorganized in 1949 and was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Winder, Georgia.
Hartwell & Hart County community service is our primary goal. At the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell, we strive to fulfill the Kiwanis vision of changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Through the participation of our members, we've helped to educate our children, support our community, and establish ourselves as the premier service organization in the City of Hartwell. You can find out about how we're working to accomplish this mission and why, at Kiwanis, our motto is, "We Build!" Over the years, we've had numerous community service projects like sponsoring and participating in Reading is Fun(RIF) programs at the three elementary schools dispersing 4000 books to kids annually. Annually sponsoring Boy Scout Troop #33 and they in turn help us with our annual Challenge of the Centuries Bicycle ride. Annual fund raising for Northeast Georgia Council of Boy Scouts of America. Building a Children's Playscape for the Hart County Botanical Gardens, to name just a few.
