Welcome to the Hillcross Beach Resort, Cheboygan, United States. Hillcross Beach Resort located in Cheboygan, Michigan. Our cottages have been offered as a peaceful getaway for over thirty years. The setting is steps away from Lake Huron. The beach is incredible, the swimming is safe, the night skies are unbelievable, the beach fires are mesmerizing and if you are lucky enough to see the Northern Lights it is something you will never forget.
Hillcross Beach Resort was originally owned by a Norwegian family, the Bessents. Mr. Bessent along with a local contractor, Chuck LaCross, built the Resort starting with four split log cottages along the shores of Lake Huron, and one cottage on US 23, next to the Bessent home. In 1964 Hillcross was purchased by Bob and Kay Herzog from Mrs. Bessent.The Resort has since then been run by the Herzogs every year since 1964. This year Kay's grandaughter Laura will be continuing her family's tradition and success by running the Resort. For years the Resort has been providing a wonderful family experience. The Herzogs have seen children that were coming in 1964 that are now coming with their own children. The Resort has become a great family tradition for everyone who stays there.
Currently three cottages are available to rent throughout the summer. Each offers a full kitchen including utensils, bath, two to three bedrooms, and each has its own fireplace. There is automatic heat, screened porches, tv's and furnished linens. Family pets are more than welcome.
