Highland Road Park Observatory in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is set in a unique, octagonal main building and featured inside the Observatory is a 20-inch reflecting telescope that has been used to locate and discover many asteroids. The Baton Rouge Astronomical Society was established in 1981, and amateur astronomers use our Observatory as a meeting place, and members freely share their expert knowledge in promoting a better understanding of Space Science and astronomy. To open up the magical and mystical delights of a beaming night sky, Highland Road Park Observatory houses a 50cm, 40 cm reflector and many small telescopes operated by trained operators, and visitors are also given an option of visiting the Observatory during daylight hours.
