Beautiful Orewa Beach itself is right across the road from the motel. The beach is safe for swimming (no rips), as well as windsurfing and kiteboarding. Nearby is the world famous Gulf Harbour Country Club, recently host to the New Zealand Golf Open, with its breathtaking views across the Hauraki Gulf, and its signature 16th hole (seen on the right).
Up north are the Matakana markets, a delightful Saturday experience shopping and tasting the local produce from the Matakana region.
