The Hendricks Hill Museum in Southport, Maine in preserves items relating to life on Southport island from the 1800's to the 1950's as they say and visitors can view the seagoing tools of fishing trades and schooners, ice harvesting tools, wooden boats, navigational instruments and charts, carpenter's tools, pictures, clothing, household items and much more. The building house dates back to 1810 and the boatshop houses three exhibit rooms and a reference room with archival and genealogical materials. The Hendricks Hill Museum is free to visit and is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, come for a fascinating and informative visit.
