and court, and bitch,and solve everyone's problems, and eat, and party,and drink, and listen to good music, Because a Pub is life.
The Carte Blanche monthly gastronaut meals have been described as “easily warranting a Michelin Star”. 8 great wines, an 8-course meal, and a company of 8 diners. In case you haven’t been before, everyone pitches in a good wine (maybe £30 at international prices), Howard balances the wine selection from his own stock to make a rounded series, and Ryan provides a sumptuous repast to complement and showcase the wine. Last month we had a real treat - AAA Kobe Beef. We limit gastronauts to 8 diners so that everyone gets a reasonable glass of each wine. Wines should be with The Green Man one week in advance to allow for cellaring, menu design, and wine notes. The cost? We aim at not more than B2,000 (say £30) per head. It can be a little more when we need exotic ingredients such as foie gras. But the cost is very small in relation to the night.
