Welcome to Fornside Farm,  our family farm in the Lake District of the United Kingdom.    We have four quality cottages converted from stone barns, equipped, furnished and maintained to a high standard.

At Fornside Farm,we farm 75 acres of beautiful countryside with spectacular views.   We keep sheep, ducks, free range hens, a horse and a pony.   Visitors are welcome to meet and feed our animals, and depending on the time of year, can even help around the farm.

The cottages on Fornside Farm are peacefully located and yet we are within easy reach of Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside and all the other attractions of the Lake District National Park in the United Kingkom.   We are on hand to offer advice on activities and places to eat, but are just as happy to leave you to enjoy a relaxing holiday on Fornside Farm.

St John's in the Vale is a peaceful valley running from Threlkeld towards Thirlmere, just east of Keswick.   Fornside Farm is set back from the road, with direct private access to the fells.   The Helvellyn range of mountains is directly behind the farm and there are magnificent views of Skiddaw and Blencathra to the north.   At  Fornside Farm we have created a private farm trail exclusively for the use of our cottage guests, to help you enjoy the woods, fields, streams, wildlife and fantastic views.   The valley remains a stronghold of the Red Squirrel of which we have regular sightings on the farm.
