Fishtown Preservation in Leland, Michigan is dedicated to preserving the past present and future of Fishtown, which is a collection of weathered fishing shanties, smokehouses, overhanging docks, fish tugs and charter boats along the Leland River. Come steep yourself in the Great Lakes maritime culture and walk and see the structures and docks, feel the connection to Lake Michigan's fishing heritage. Fishtown Preservation is a non-profit organization with volunteers dedicated to preserving this Historic site, and the Attractions include weather beaten fish shanties, small shops and a working waterfront still operating today as one of the only unmodernized commercial fishing villages in the state of Michigan.
