The Fairfield

The Fairfield in Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, United Kingdom | Guest House

Welcome to The Fairfield Guest House, Bowness-on-Windermere, United Kingdom. The Fairfield is one of Lakeland's original country houses built over 200 years ago and now provides both serviced and self-catering

accommodation. Tony and Liz Blaney offer their guests a high standard of personal service with genuine hospitality in a homely atmosphere.

The half acre of secluded garden gives a perfect sense of peace and tranquility and in the early summer boasts the beautiful scent and colour of camellia, azalea, Rhododendron, and a magnificent wisteria that is as old as the house itself.

The original part of the house was built over 200 years ago, and in the early part of the 20th century, it was owned by Annie Garnet, the famous water colourist, gardener, designer and manufacturer of fabrics and textiles. She converted the stables of the original house into a workshop and extended them to provide space for seven looms.

Situated just above Bowness village and Lake Windermere, The Fairfield Guest House is set in peaceful secluded surroundings that make it an ideal base from which to explore one of the loveliest areas in Britain - the English Lake District. The village and lake shore are a few minutes walk and nearby

footpaths give access to the open countryside and the fine local viewpoint at the top of Brantfell. The Fairfield, Bowness-on-Windermere, is also ideally located for Dalesway walkers.
