The Elkridge Club in Baltimore, Maryland, United States | Golf

Welcome to The Elkridge Club in Baltimore, United States.

In 1915  the Elkridge Club By Laws stated that women could be elected to membership without payment of initiation fee, and in 1920 women were permitted to join The Elkridge Club under terms to be set by the Board of Governors.  However, no women ever applied and the 1926 rules reverted to men only. In 1995 the Board removed all gender restrictions from the By-Laws, women members were once again permitted, and on January 22, 1996, the first woman was elected to membership at The Elkridge Club.   Beginning on January 1, 2005, all gender based membership was eliminated, and all spouses of members became members themselves.

Two athletic events highlight The Elkridge Club sporting year.   The Elkridge green spring member-guest Golf tournament, played annually since 1951, is one of the premier events of its kind in Baltimore.   And the All Points of the Compass member-guest tennis tournament, provides a delightful day of fast moving tennis.

One hundred twenty seven years old, one hundred seventeen years in the same location, The Elkridge Club has had nearly 2900 members.  The past represents a tradition that cannot be quickly acquired and the future, while unknown, is faced by The Elkridge Club, a club in sound physical and financial circumstances.
