Education Department in Blue Hill, Hancock County, United States | Educational programme

Welcome to the Education Department at MERI, Blue Hill, Maine, United States. In the coastal community of Blue Hill on the edge of the Gulf of Maine, we understand the importance of a healthy marine ecosystem and believe that students need this knowledge to better understand the sciences.
MERI?s Education Department can help teachers set up specialized programs for their classrooms focused on ocean topics ranging from phytoplankton to marine mammals. All lessons are hands-on and can be customized to meet student and teacher needs. Whether it is investigating a tide pool for intertidal species or using a watershed model to learn about pollution, these programs aim to make today?s students the future stewards of our oceans. All MERI education programs are designed around Ocean Literacy Principals and fundamental concepts of ocean science while teaching science standards.
Spark your student?s natural curiosity in sea animals, ocean concepts and marine issues. Ocean awareness and knowledge will help students understand complex science concepts and global issues that affect the entire planet and encourage them to consider careers as future scientists and to become dedicated ocean stewards.
