The region is maritime in character and produces long dry summers where the mean growing rainfall is less than 6 inches (155mm) and the mean January temperature is 65°F (18.5°C). These conditions, matched with the ancient coastal soils, create the ideal conditions for prolonged ripening and consistent grape yields producing Wines with outstanding varietal definition and lift.
