Coggeshall Farm

Coggeshall Farm in Bristol, Bristol County, United States | Farm tours

Welcome to Coggeshall Farm, Bristol, Rhode Island, United States. Coggeshall Farm is a living history museum which seeks to illustrate agrarian life while exploring the interaction between Anglo, African, and Native peoples on a coastal Rhode Island farm in the last decade of the 18th century. Set on 48 acres in Bristol, Rhode Island, the museum features an historic 18th century farmhouse, rare breed livestock, heirloom gardens and fruit trees, and costumed live interpretation of rural life in Bristol during the Federal period. Our regular museum programming is bolstered throughout the year by several special events, the largest and most popular of which is our annual Harvest Fair.
The Farm Grounds can be visited for variety of activities including a quiet walk, to attend a workshop, or as part of a school or adult tour group. Special weekend events such as maple sugaring, sheep shearing, and demonstrations of late eighteenth century skills, crafts, and farm work using materials and methods of the period are demonstrated throughout the year.
