Castillo de Monteagudo

Castillo de Monteagudo in Murcia, Murcia, Spain | Castle

Castillo de Monteagudo in Murcia, Spain is located on the top of a hill with archaeological remains dating back to the Moorish period and was used way back in 1825 as a fortification for Mercia, and was probably a prison too. There were large wells for the garrison and farmers stored grain there, the walls still in excellent condition were made of rammed earth and mortar, and there are two terraces at different heights, granaries and other rooms. Castillo de Monteagudo offers guided tours periodically, and with a long and interesting history going back is a fascinating place to visit.
