Welcome to the Book Barn, Bend, United States. The Book Barn, Bend first opened its doors in May 1973. Shirley Gallagher, Shirley Wadsworth and Judy Yanna were the original owners. In 1974 Children's Books were moved upstairs to the 20 year old empty chiropractic office, giving us twice the space. In 1976 our space grew two-fold again by moving into the shoe repair shop next door.
In 1995 Chris Lovlien purchased ownership of the Book Barn, and in June 2001 Linda Torres purchased ownership. On August 1, 2001 the Book Barn moved across the street to 135 NW Minnesota, the former home of Chelsea Lane.
In 2004, Chris retired and Linda became the principal owner.
