Welcome to Bitter Beck Pottery, Cockermouth, Scotland. Bitter Beck Pottery houses original and unique Ceramics inspired by the natural world and all work is designed and hand made by Joan Hardie in her pottery studio in the historic Market Place.
The Bitter Beck Pottery was opened in April 2006 in Cockermouthรข??s historic Market Place. All the work on sale is hand made on the premises. Visitors can see pieces being made, talk with Joan Hardie about her work and look through her sketchbooks of inspiring photos, some of which are available as prints. Her aims at Bitter Beck Pottery are to produce work that is interesting, accessible and affordable, and which encourages people to look afresh at the natural world around us. Joan makes a variety of unique wall pieces, sculptural pieces, vessels, and hanging pieces for the house or garden. She likes to undertake commissions to celebrate an aspect of nature.
