The Library, Biblioteca di STORIA PATRIA of the Society for the History Sicilian homeland began to establish themselves early in 1873 through purchases, but mainly due to large donations and related (Special Funds) of illustrious Sicilian personalities in Palermo, Italy. Among the first to donate was Gabriele Ortolani, Prince of Torremuzza, followed Benso Francis, Duke of Vegetables, Michele Amari, Msgr. Vincenzo Di Giovanni, Joseph Lodi, Vito La Mantia, Antonino Salinas, Jerome seventh, Prince of Fitalia and other scholars.

Donations are the richness and the characteristic of the Library, Biblioteca di STORIA PATRIA in Palermo, Italy they reveal the culture and work of collectors and play an important role for the scholar who intends to pursue the research on historical Sicilian sources .

Biblioteca di STORIA PATRIA, has a reading room (Room Pitrè), on the ground floor, and another reading room at the second floor, which is currently closed to the public for lack of staff; a photocopying service fee.
