Who is Adventure's Edge? What is their story?  Does it start with a few beers? Is it the flush of excitement of a race to the finish in a dead heat? Was it a moment of clarity amidst a Shasta whiteout? Or is it the wonder of an infant's first breath after months of planning and anticipation?

Adventure's Edge was born in 1970.  It has been a part of the community of Arcata in the United States for 37 years and counting.  Since 1970 innumerable folks have tended to Adventure's Edge mission of quality, service and fun, quality of life and land, service to the community and each other and fun because having fun is an integral part of life lived well.

We owe a wealth of gratitude to those who have shaped Adventure's Edge in Arcata.

Adventure's Edge was started in 1970 by two outdoor enthusiasts who were drawn to the area by its natural beauty and by the local college, Humboldt State University.

They stayed because the Northcoast offered a wealth of opportunities for fun in the ocean and rivers , in the forests and on the mountains. They settled here because the town of Arcata possessed the qualities of "community",  sharing, giving, growing, being responsible and supportive,  that encouraged them to establish roots.

Adventure's Edge mirrors the facets of the Northcoast and of our home in Arcata.  We are a diverse lot. We hike the trails of the world. We bike the roads and singletrack that wind through redwoods. We paddle the wild rivers of Northwestern California. We climb at Smith, Red Rocks, Moonstone Beach. We like to have fun in the outdoors. We like to share our enjoyment and passion for the outdoors with others.
