Fancy the job of caretaker on a paradise island on the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia?
Tourism Queensland is offering just that. In a high profile publicity campaign for the Australias Queensland Region and the offshore islands of the Great Barrier Reef, Tourism Queensland is advertising this dream job on their website.
Applicants are required to submit an offbeat application video of themselves justifying why they should get the job ... to be chosen to live on Hamilton Island and capture their experiences on a blog!
Soon after releasing the news, Tourism Queensland was flooded with applications. This brought their website to its knees.
Word on the grapevine had it that a lady from Australia had submitted an application video promising to have the job advert tattooed across her body to prove her enthusiasm for the job. It later turned out that this was a publicity stunt by the advertising company responsible for the campaign.
There are still 33 days to apply.
